This is a frozen moment of the tragic story where Mem and Zîn could not unite. The face on the left is Zîn, the sister of the Bey of Cizre, the most beautiful of all. Her flowing lines symbolize her grace, and her red lips symbolize her love for Mem and the words of love she spoke. Her eyes are closed; because her love did not begin with a worldly gaze, but in a dream, with the eye of her heart. Or perhaps this is the depiction of that final moment when she closed her eyes to life upon hearing the news of Mem's death. The face on the right is Mem, noble and brave. His sharp and dignified lines reflect his nobility and determination. His eyes are open; even in the darkness of the dungeon, he looks with hope toward Zîn, toward that impossible future where they would unite. His colorless lips whisper his silence in the dungeon, the words he could not say, and the pain he endured. And between them, Beko... That blood-red wound flows, both separating them and binding their destinies together. This is the very essence of discord, jealousy, and betrayal. This is the deep dagger wound that Beko's lies opened between two pure hearts. The complex, scarred ground in the background represents the world hostile to their love, palace intrigues, and merciless traditions.
