Red Phoenix: Anatomy of Rebirth

About the Artwork

The Red Phoenix. It has ceased to be a bird and has become the very burning, chaotic, and unstoppable force of rebirth itself. It covers the entire canvas like a vortex of fire. But this chaos is not unbridled. The intervention of human reason and perception cuts through this sea of fire in vertical columns. They are an attempt to make sense of this hell, to analyze it: The green column is the promise of new life and nature that will be born from this fire. The yellow column is the light of reason and wisdom. The white column is the beginning of everything; the pure idea of the Phoenix before it took on flesh and bone, its cosmic DNA. There are two cosmic witnesses to this divine drama: The yellow sphere at the bottom left is the rising sun. It is the source feeding this fire, the earthly power energizing this rebirth. The green sphere at the top right is a moon or perhaps a new, lush green world to be reached after this rebirth. It is a result, a hope, a goal. In this work, it is stated that rebirth consists not only of fire and chaos. It is a cosmic process fed by a source, moving towards a goal, and gaining meaning through the intervention of reason and idea.
