Mesopotamia: One Land, Different Helmets
About the Artwork
This artwork is the unending epic of Mesopotamia, the sacred lands where civilization was born but also where countless civilizations were buried. These warriors are not soldiers of a single army; they are souls torn from different pages of history, united on the same bloody horizon. The commander walking in the front with his steel helmet and crimson cloak is a reflection of every wave that struck these lands from the West. He is Alexander's ambition, Rome's discipline, the Crusaders' obstinacy. His gaze carries the cold determination of a will that has come to establish a new order, to conquer the old. The sword in his hand is not just a weapon, but a pen that will rewrite history. Standing right behind him, with their different turbans, armors, and angry gazes, is the ancient spirit of these lands. They are the wisdom of Sumer, the power of Babylon, the nobility of Persia. They are both the original owners of the land and the previous conquerors. They are the different faces of Mesopotamia's warrior spirit; one goes, another comes, but swords change hands and continue to water the same soil with blood. The ground beneath their feet is kneaded not with mud, but with the blood of ages. The burning city in the background is the legacy they leave behind: This work tells us the tragic truth of Mesopotamia: In these lands, peace is just a short break taken between one war and another.
